Sunwing has added new changes to its seating and baggage fees, include a new charge for carry-on items.
Items sized 51 cm x 40 cm x 23 cm will now be subject to a $25 fare each way. A full list of changes can be found here.
The changes apply to seat selection, which will include the addition of Preferred seating, and à la carte baggage fees with the goal to minimize upfront costs while providing options for customers to purchase extras or add-ons to suit their specific need. Changes take effect October 24.
"For the past two decades, Sunwing has had an unwavering focus on delivering unbeatable value to Canadians," said Stephen Hunter, CEO of Sunwing Travel Group. "We have continuously innovated to provide Canadians with more affordable vacation packages to some of the most popular sun destinations. These changes to our airline services come at a critical time as affordability is top of mind for Canadians, and will help us solidify our standing as the leading tour operator in the country."
Sunwing says the changes are inline with its ongoing commitment to make leisure travel more affordable for Canadians and retain its position as the preferred choice for travel to sun destinations. The changes Sunwing is implementing are strategic to its airline services which they say will reduce costs for its valued customers and ensure they pay only for the services they want and need.
