Porter Airlines began round-trip flights today between Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) and Puerto Vallarta (PVR), Mexico.
Seasonal service starts with three weekly flights, increasing to five weekly beginning Dec. 14. Nonstop flights from Hamilton and Ottawa to Puerto Vallarta will launch in December.
Flights are operated with the 132-seat Embraer E195-E2, meaning no middle seats. All passengers will have access to free WiFi, complimentary beer and wine in glassware, and Canadian snacks. Travellers can select PorterReserve fares for priority check-in, extra legroom, pre-mixed cocktails, and fresh meals, or add individual perks à la carte with PorterClassic.
“Launching our inaugural flight to Puerto Vallarta further expands Porter’s presence in Mexico and fulfills a longstanding demand from Canadian travellers. We are excited to offer our elevated economy experience on this popular route, and believe passengers will appreciate the genuine care and hospitality that only Porter provides,” said Andrew Pierce, vice president, network planning and reporting, Porter Airlines.
The new route is part of Porter’s broader winter schedule, which includes destinations in Mexico, the Caribbean, Costa Rica, Florida, Arizona, and California.
The airline’s network works alongside joint venture partner Air Transat, providing travellers with additional destinations, travel dates, and flexible booking options. VIPorter members can redeem points for travel on Porter and Air Transat starting at 10,000 points one way.
