Hilton has launched a new Hilton Honors benefit in the U.S. that lets eligible members use loyalty points toward hotel charges at digital checkout, eliminating the need to visit the front desk to redeem rewards. During the rollout, the feature is only available at select U.S. properties, with plans to expand the program into Canada early next year.
According to the hotel giant, the new Pay with Points feature, announced on Oct. 21, is available to Hilton Honors members with Silver, Gold, Diamond, or Diamond Reserve status at 150 participating properties in the United States.
Travellers can access the option through the Hilton Honors app when reviewing their bill during digital checkout. Members can review their hotel folio, select from available redemption options, and apply points toward eligible charges.
Hilton officials said availability and redemption options vary by property.
The decision to implement the feature comes from member feedback about having more flexibility in how they use their rewards. Hilton research found that 70 percent of surveyed members were interested in using points for on-property purchases, while another 50 percent said the option could make them more likely to stay or book with the company.
Hilton expects to expand the Pay with Points benefit to more than 800 hotels by the end of 2026. The company plans to extend the feature to more than 6,000 participating properties across the U.S. and Canada in early 2027.
