The Association of Canadian Travel Agencies and Travel Advisors (ACTA) is preparing to celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2027, with plans for a National Summit in Toronto, regional events across Canada and a special anniversary gala in Montréal.
The centrepiece of the celebrations will be a National Summit on September 9, 2027, at the Toronto Congress Centre, bringing together travel advisors, agency leaders, suppliers and industry partners from across the country.
Rather than hosting its traditional regional Summits in Toronto, Montréal and Vancouver, ACTA will combine the three events into one national gathering for its milestone anniversary.
“For 50 years, ACTA has proudly represented Canada's travel agencies and travel advisors, championing their interests and strengthening our industry,” said Suzanne Acton-Gervais, President of ACTA.
“Our 50th anniversary is an opportunity to celebrate our collective achievements, recognize the people and partnerships that have brought us here, and look ahead to the next 50 years.”
Complimentary Registration for ACTA Members
Registration for the September 9 National Summit will be complimentary for all ACTA members.
With attendees expected to travel from across Canada, ACTA is working with airline and hotel partners to explore preferred rates on flights and accommodations.
The association also plans to incorporate bilingual content into the Summit program and is exploring interpretation and translation technology to support participation in English and French.

“We want to make our 50th anniversary an exceptional celebration of our industry and the people who make it so successful,” said Acton-Gervais.
“Bringing our members and industry partners together from across Canada and beyond will make this a truly memorable occasion.”
Regional Events and Montréal Gala Planned
Beyond the National Summit, ACTA is planning a series of regional round tables throughout 2027, providing opportunities for travel agencies, advisors, suppliers and industry partners to connect and discuss business opportunities.
A special 50th Anniversary Gala will also take place in Montréal, bringing together members and industry partners from Quebec and across Canada.
The gala will recognize contributions to Canada's travel industry while supporting ACTA's ongoing advocacy work on behalf of travel agencies and advisors.
A date, venue and program for the gala have not yet been announced.
ACTA also plans to offer international educational experiences during its anniversary year, with destinations and program details to be confirmed.
Building on Strong 2026 Attendance
The announcement follows a successful year for ACTA's regional Summits, which welcomed more than 1,200 travel advisors, agency leaders, suppliers and industry partners across Toronto, Montréal and Vancouver in 2026.
The association hopes to build on that participation as it brings the Canadian travel trade together for its anniversary.

“ACTA's 50th anniversary is about more than celebrating our history. It is about recognizing the strength of our industry, celebrating the people who make it extraordinary and looking ahead to an exciting future together,” concluded Acton-Gervais.
“We invite our members and industry partners from across Canada to be part of this milestone celebration, to connect, be inspired, leave energized and help shape the next 50 years of our industry.”
Further information on National Summit registration, programming, sponsorship opportunities and other anniversary events will be released in the coming months.
