Saint Kitts and Nevis used Caribbean Travel Marketplace 2026 to showcase new tourism developments, sustainability initiatives and evolving visitor experiences to travel advisors, tour operators, airline partners and media from around the world.
Hosted by the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA) in partnership with the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority, this year’s event brought together more than 500 delegates from across the Caribbean, North America, Europe and Latin America for meetings, networking events and discussions focused on the future of Caribbean tourism.
Representing the twin-island federation were Nevis Tourism Authority CEO Andia Ravariere and Director of MICE & VIP Services Shelisia Glassford, alongside St. Kitts Tourism Authority CEO Kelly Fontenelle and Business Development Manager Danielle Weekes. Hotel partners from both islands also participated throughout the conference.
During a joint press conference, tourism officials highlighted destination updates, tourism performance and future initiatives shaping travel to the federation.
“Platforms like CHTA Marketplace are invaluable to our growth strategy, providing us with direct access to travel trade partners and industry leaders who are essential in carrying our story to markets worldwide," said Kelly Fontenelle.
"For St. Kitts, attending Marketplace offers the opportunity to nurture relationships, forge meaningful partnerships, and ensure that our destination stays top of mind for travellers seeking immersive and authentic Caribbean experiences."
The St. Kitts Tourism Authority also pointed to the continued growth of its culinary tourism offerings, including the expansion of Restaurant Month into a broader island-wide culinary celebration throughout July.
Meanwhile, Ravariere positioned Nevis as a boutique luxury destination focused on sustainability, wellness and experiential travel.
“CHTA Marketplace continues to be an important platform for strengthening partnerships and elevating the visibility of our destination on a regional and global level,” said Andia Ravariere.
“Nevis is intentionally growing through a model rooted in value over volume, sustainability, and meaningful visitor experiences, and we were proud to share that vision alongside our partners from Saint Kitts.”
Ravariere also highlighted Nevis’ positioning around “barefoot luxury,” pointing to the island’s boutique accommodations, natural landscapes and historical attractions.
Among the initiatives spotlighted was the Nevis Mango Festival, which enters its 12th year in 2026 and has grown into one of the Caribbean’s leading culinary events.
Nevis tourism officials also highlighted sustainability efforts including renewable energy projects, coral restoration programs and low-impact tourism initiatives. Palm Garden Nevis was recognized for recently transitioning to 100% solar energy operations.
The destination further promoted its historical ties as the birthplace of Alexander Hamilton, alongside restoration efforts underway at the historic Bath Hotel.
Officials also pointed to improving regional accessibility through Winair service from St. Maarten and ferry connections via St. Kitts.
Caribbean Travel Marketplace is considered the region’s premier tourism marketing event, bringing together Caribbean suppliers and global buyers to strengthen partnerships and drive tourism business across the region.
