The Bermuda Tourism Authority (BTA) hosted two events last week in Toronto and Montréal, highlighting destination developments and recent travel trends.
Held under the theme “Bermuda Nights”, the BTA was represented by Jamari Douglas, VP of Marketing, PR & Communications, and Karlandra Smith, Public Relations and Activations manager.

They were joined by BermudAir’s Head of Marketing Julie Rempel, Goslings’ Bermuda Brand Director Andrew Holmes, and Master Perfumer Isabelle Ramsay-Brackstone of Lili Bermuda Perfumery.
“With Canadians looking for alternatives to travelling to the U.S., this is an opportune time for Bermuda to engage in this market,” said Douglas.

“These events allowed us to share what makes Bermuda a strong year-round destination for Canadian travellers, from our pink sand beaches and outdoor adventure to luxury accommodations and wellness experiences, our unique cultural heritage and the island’s deep history."
The BTA pointed to a rise in Canadian visitation and highlighted new airlift options, including direct BermudAir flights from Montréal and expanded service from Toronto.
“Bermuda is the closest sun destination to Toronto and Montréal outside of the U.S.,” Douglas said. “With a maximum flight time of 2 hours and 35 minutes from three gateways, Canadians can easily find themselves sitting on a pink sand beach with a Dark 'n Stormy® in their hand.”
Guests at the events were invited to wear Bermuda-inspired outfits featuring pink and nautical elements, with "Best Dressed" awards handed out. Attendees also sampled local rum cocktails, experienced island fragrances, and explored storytelling stations featuring topics like shipwreck diving and Bermuda shorts.
