G Adventures has released internal booking data and it reveals some interesting facts about how, why and where Canadians are travelling this fall.

According to bookings with G, Canadians show a clear desire to explore new regions during shoulder season. Traditional fall favorites like Peru, Morocco, Italy, Portugal, and Turkey remain the top-booked overall destinations for Canadians this autumn, mirroring 2025. However, the most significant year-over-year (YoY) fall booking surges reflect a growing curiosity for non-traditional itineraries. These are the destinations with the largest percentage growth when compared with last year:

  • Canada: +250%
  • China: +205%
  • Indonesia: +98%
  • Uzbekistan: +88%
  • Bosnia & Herzegovina: +64%
  • Poland: +57%
  • Sri Lanka: +50%
  • Uruguay: +41%
  • Egypt: +38%
  • South Korea: +33%
  • Costa Rica: +23%
  • Albania: +21%

Another trend G travellers are fully embracing is solo travel. Fall solo departures have surged 40% compared to summer months, with women representing 76% of these solo bookings.

While core solo mainstays include Peru, Morocco, Italy, Japan, and Vietnam, emerging solo favorites for autumn include China (+120%), India (+17%), and Egypt (+12%).

A third trend that has been much-talked about is sports tourism, and again, booking data bears out its popularity. To capture this momentum, G Adventures introduced Away Games this summer, a collection of itineraries built around iconic European football culture in England and Spain, with first departures kicking off this fall.

“At G Adventures, we’ve always believed travel is about human connection, and there are few communities more passionate, emotional and united than football fans,” said Yves Marceau, VP of product at G Adventures.

Other (non-seasonally specific) trends G Adventures highlighted include “deadzoning” — travelling without phones and social media to distract from the experience, celebrating birthdays with a trip and taking a grown-up “gap year” when life hands you a curveball like an unexpected lay-off.
