Century Cruises’ new river ship, Century Star, will be
available for travel agent tours during Cruise Lines International
Association’s RiverView 2027 conference in Vienna, Austria, on March 5-8.
The ship will be featured in the conference’s new Lite
program on March 6, allowing agents to explore the vessel, meet its onboard
team, and enjoy drinks and refreshments. Century Star will also be included in
the main conference’s ship tour program on March 8.
Century Star launched in September and accommodates 174
guests. The vessel is the first Asian-owned luxury river cruise ship
purpose-built for European waterways, according to the CLIA. It was constructed
using 60% recycled steel and features hybrid-electric propulsion technology.
The main RiverView conference will include a two-night
sailing from Budapest to Vienna via Bratislava, with delegates hosted aboard
AmaSofia, Riviera Radiance or VIVA TWO. The program also includes business
sessions, guided ship tours, a networking trade fair, and local excursions.
The Lite program runs March 6-8 and offers a shorter
Vienna-based experience, including business sessions, supplier networking, ship
visits, overnight stays aboard TUI River Cruises and Avalon Waterways vessels,
and lunch aboard a Scenic ship.
Century Cruises is expanding its presence into the European
market with Century Star. The ship’s inclusion in RiverView 2027 will allow
travel agents to experience the vessel firsthand as they learn about river
cruise offerings for their clients.
