Porter Airlines announced the launch of roundtrip service between Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) and Liberia, Costa Rica (LIR). This marks the airline’s first route to Central America.
The airline says Toronto-Liberia will operate up to six times weekly.
“The start of service to Costa Rica means Canadians can now fly Porter when travelling to the Guanacaste province, and enjoy the beautiful landscapes that Liberia and the surrounding area have to offer. The country is a second home for many Canadians and now they have the option to begin their trip with the care and genuine hospitality that only Porter provides,” said Andrew Pierce, vice president, network planning and reporting, Porter Airlines.
This is the fourth in a series of southern destinations Porter is introducing this winter, joining Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, and Nassau.
Flights will be operated with Porter’s 132-seat Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, which includes no middle seats, complimentary beer and wine, free premium snacks, and WiFi.
Porter’s all-inclusive PorterReserve fare offers additional perks such as meals, priority check-in, two checked bags, and flexible booking options. Travellers can also customize their experience with PorterClassic fares. Members of Porter’s VIPorter loyalty program can redeem points for travel on Porter and Air Transat flights to sun destinations starting at 10,000 points one way.
Service from Ottawa to Liberia is set to begin on December 17, 2025.
