Princess Cruises is moving away from a three-decades-old tradition.
The cruise line is dropping visits to Princess Cays, its private island destination in Eleuthera, Bahamas that first opened in 1992.
The changes are already showing up on upcoming itineraries, with the cruise line replacing Princess Cays stops with visits to other Carnival Corporation private island destinations in Half Moon Cay and Celebration Key.
"We can confirm that Princess has shifted its published fall itineraries from Princess Cays to Relax Away, Half Moon Cay," the cruise line said in an emailed statement to TravelPulse.
Princess Cays has been a hit with passengers over the years, offering a more peaceful stop ideal for lounging in the sun and engaging with laidback activities like kayaking and snorkeling.
"Our private resort at Princess Cays is situated on more than 40 acres and features over a half-mile of white-sand shoreline, all at the southern tip of the island," the cruise line's website states. "The resort boasts outstanding amenities while carefully preserving this natural paradise."
Princess' website shows just seven upcoming cruises with scheduled stops at Princess Cays, with three having already sold out.
