G Adventures has announced its 2027 familiarization (FAM) trip lineup for Canadian travel advisors, with six itineraries spanning Ecuador, Guatemala, China, Turkey, Indonesia and Madeira.
The program includes trips from the company's National Geographic Journeys, Solo-ish, Classic and Active travel styles, giving advisors an opportunity to experience different types of small-group travel before recommending them to clients.
The six FAM itineraries announced for 2027 are:
Ecuador: Journeys: Ecuador’s Amazon and Volcanoes, combining rainforest exploration, volcanic landscapes and visits to local communities.
-
Guatemala: Solo-ish Guatemala, introducing advisors to the company's solo travel concept through visits to Antigua, Lake Atitlán and Mayan archaeological sites.
-
China: Journeys: Wonders of China, featuring cultural and historical experiences alongside National Geographic expert interactions.
-
Turkey: Highlights of Turkey, including Cappadocia, Istanbul and the country's historical and cultural attractions.
Indonesia: Classic Bali & Komodo Island, taking advisors from Bali to Komodo National Park, home to the Komodo dragon.
Portugal: Hiking in Madeira, an Active itinerary featuring the island's levada trails, coastal landscapes and laurel forests.
The trips are intended to provide more than traditional hotel inspections and destination familiarization.
Advisors will meet local tourism operators and community project leaders, including those involved with Planeterra, G Adventures' non-profit partner, to better understand how tourism spending supports local communities.
“Our travel advisor partners are the heartbeat of our business, and there’s no substitute for experiencing community tourism in person,” said David Green, VP of Sales and Managing Director, Canada, for G Adventures.
“When an agent steps into a local community enterprise, travels alongside a CEO (Chief Experience Officer), or walks through a Planeterra project, their perspective transforms. They return home not just as sellers of travel, but as passionate advocates for community-led tourism. This upcoming 2027 schedule is specifically designed to equip our partners with the deep product knowledge and firsthand confidence they need to grow their business and stand out in the marketplace.”
Each FAM group will be accompanied by a local Chief Experience Officer (CEO), G Adventures' term for its tour leaders, as well as a member of the Canadian sales team who will provide product training throughout the trip.
The company is also incorporating its Trees for Days initiative into the program, planting one tree for every day an advisor spends on a FAM trip.
Beyond the trips themselves, G Adventures says it will continue offering Canadian advisors monthly In the Loop webinars, agent discounts and its G Dollars incentive program.
“We view our relationship with travel advisors as a true partnership. When they succeed, we succeed,” said Erin Rogers, National Sales Manager for Canada.
“Alongside our FAM program, we continue to support our Canadian advisor community year-round through our monthly In the Loop webinars, competitive agent discounts, and our industry-leading G Dollars incentive program. We’re 100% committed to giving agents the exact tools, experiences, and confidence they need to succeed.”
Travel advisors interested in applying for a 2027 FAM trip can contact their local G Adventures Global Purpose Specialist (GPS) or visit the company's Canadian Agents of Change Facebook group for additional information.
