Lovers of Playa del Carmen have a new luxury resort to enjoy.
The Yucatan Resort Playa Del Carmen, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, officially opened its doors on the famous Mayan Riviera last week. Formerly the Live Aqua Playa del Carmen, it's being operated by Playa Hotels and Resorts and Hilton.
It's a marvellous adults-only resort and the second all-inclusive Hilton property in Playa Del Carmen that's managed by Playa, the other being the Hilton Playa del Carmen.
The boutique, 60-room resort sits along the charming Fifth Avenue in downtown Playa del Carmen, which is filled with marvellous restaurants and shops.
The Yucatan Resort Playa del Carmen has a rooftop pool that's perfect for soaking up the sun. Their international buffet, El Mural, features an à la carte menu with everything from tropical fruits and fresh juices to sliced meats and cheeses, as well as specialties ranging from "Grandma's French Toast" to classic chilaquiles, while Coffee Corner serves fresh coffee and pastries.
Enjoy stunning views from Le Terraza Snack Bar, which is decorated in vibrant colours and offers authentic tacos, crisp salads, tasty ceviche, seasoned wings, BBQ ribs and more.
For a real treat, visit Sakura Maru Sushi Bar for Japanese and Peruvian flavours, with an original sushi menu, traditional Peruvian ceviche, tiradito tataki and other Nikkei dishes.
Pamper yourself at the resort spa, which offers a variety of services from body scrubs and wraps, to facials and massages. They also have bridal treatments to prepare for the big day, as well as couples, men, maternity, and sports treatments.
Guests also enjoy a fitness centre, business centre, concierge service and free parking.
Amenities of their sister Hilton property, including a private beach and water activities, tennis, a luxury spa and an Olympic-sized swimming pool, are available with an All-Inclusive Plus upgrade.
