The Martinique Tourism Authority (MTA) brought some tropical warmth to Toronto this week with the 2025 edition of Martinique Sensation.
The annual event gathered dozens of tourism professionals to celebrate the island’s culture, cuisine, and growing appeal to Canadian travellers.
“We are so pleased to be back in Ontario again, and though we needed a day or two to adjust to the weather, we were instantly warmed by the strong connection we enjoy with our Canadian friends and partners,” said Muriel Wiltord, MTA's director of Americas.
“We’re continuing to build upon the momentum we established in-market earlier this year, and sharing the authentic, accessible Martinique experience that has resonated so strongly with Canadian travellers.”

The MTA highlighted Martinique’s popularity, crediting the destination’s combination of safety, accessibility, and culture. Presentations touched on Martinique’s history, gastronomy, including its rhum agricole and the island’s recognition as a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.
The MTA shared updates on Martinique’s air and cruise connectivity, noting that over 465,000 cruise passengers visited between 2024 and 2025. A new cruise village with eight kiosks and tented vendor spaces has been completed, with the island ready to welcome the MSC Opera’s maiden voyage from Fort-de-France in Winter 2026.
On the air side, Air Canada will continue offering year-round direct flights from Montreal and seasonal service from Toronto, alongside a new direct route from Quebec City launching December 7.
Attending suppliers included representatives from Archipel Evasion, Club Med, Hôtel Bambou, Hôtel Panoramic, Karibéa Hôtel, La Savane des Esclaves, and several other tourism partners. Attendees had the opportunity to meet with hoteliers, spas, and tour operators before a closing cocktail reception featuring prize giveaways.
