The Dominican Republic hosted more than 1,200 tourism pros at its 2026 Trade Show in Miami.
Dominican Republic Trade Show 2026 took place at the Miami Beach Convention Center, bringing together buyers and partners from Canada, the United States, and Latin America.
Now in its fourth edition, the event included more than 100 Dominican suppliers; from hotels and airlines to tour operators and tourism associations.
“The 2026 Trade Show demonstrates that the Dominican Republic not only leads in visitor arrivals, but also in its ability to generate real business opportunities and sustainable development across the entire tourism value chain,” said David Collado.
Focus on deals and partnerships
Organizers say the event facilitated more than 1,800 business meetings throughout the day, positioning it as a platform for negotiations and partnership-building in priority markets, including Canada.

An evening roadshow dinner aimed to strengthen relationships in a more informal setting, giving industry players additional time to connect.
Two new agreements were also announced:
- A partnership with Visa focused on using data and market intelligence to better understand traveller behaviour and refine acquisition strategies
- An agreement with the Miami Marlins to promote the destination through baseball, leveraging the visibility of Dominican players in Major League Baseball
Cultural push alongside business
Beyond meetings, the trade show included cultural programming designed to showcase Dominican identity.
Attendees could take part in workshops and demonstrations, including traditional faceless doll-making, mamajuana tastings, cassava bread preparation and organic cocoa production. Live merengue and bachata performances were also part of the program.

Training and market growth
The event also included training sessions for travel advisors and tour operators, focused on expanding knowledge of the destination across segments such as sun and beach, luxury, sports and cultural tourism.
The Americas remains the Dominican Republic’s largest source market, with more than 7.4 million visitors. Officials say initiatives like the trade show are designed to strengthen those relationships and support future demand.
New supply coming online
The destination continues to expand its hotel offering, with new projects from brands including St. Regis Hotels & Resorts, W Hotels in Punta Cana, and Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts.
The country is also positioning itself as a hub for major sports, cultural and entertainment events, part of a broader strategy to diversify tourism and drive year-round demand.
Officials say the trade show is a central piece of that strategy, aimed at strengthening ties with key partners while supporting continued growth in international arrivals.
