WestJet has expanded its codeshare agreement with Air France and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, giving Canadian travellers greater access to Europe through connections at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport (AMS) and Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG).
“As part of our commitment to flying Canadians where they want to go, these expanded partnerships provide WestJet guests with more options to explore 59 sought-after European destinations this summer,” said Jared Mikoch-Gerke, WestJet’s Director of Airport Affairs and Alliances.
The expanded agreements allow bookings on one ticket, streamlined baggage transfers, and WestJet Rewards points.
The move follows recent WestJet transatlantic network growth and is particularly significant for travellers from Atlantic Canada.
“For guests originating in, or connecting through Atlantic Canada in particular, these enhancements are a gamechanger – offering guests travelling from or through Halifax and St. John's more destinations, fewer layovers and convenient access to Europe,” Mikoch-Gerke added.
Expanded Access from Halifax to Amsterdam
WestJet’s new direct route from Halifax to Amsterdam opens up connections to 14 cities across Europe through KLM’s network. These include major hubs in France, Italy, Portugal, Belgium, Finland, and the Czech Republic, such as:
-
Brussels, Belgium (BRU)
Prague, Czechia (PRG)
Helsinki, Finland (HEL)
-
Lisbon and Porto, Portugal (LIS, OPO)
Bologna, Florence, and Milan-Linate, Italy (BLQ, FLR, LIN)
Multiple French cities including Nice, Bordeaux, Marseille, and Toulouse
Additional Air France Options from Paris
Passengers flying from Calgary, Halifax, and St. John’s via Paris can also access four more destinations through Air France’s extensive network. These include:
