Porter Airlines is adding a new domestic route this summer.
Nonstop flights between Hamilton and Ottawa will begin June 22.
The new service will operate twice daily between John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport and Ottawa International Airport (YOW), using the airline’s 78-seat De Havilland Dash 8-400 aircraft.
“This new route gives passengers more options and greater convenience. Hamilton travellers can now fly seamlessly to Ottawa and easily connect to destinations across Atlantic Canada and the U.S. East Coast, including Boston and New York,” said Andrew Pierce, VP, network planning and reporting, Porter Airlines.
“At the same time, Ottawa passengers gain direct access to Hamilton, the gateway to Niagara region wineries, 100-plus waterfalls and a vibrant culinary scene - there’s lots to explore for every type of visitor.”
Flight schedules (all times local) include:
Ottawa–Hamilton: 8:35 a.m. departure / 9:43 a.m. arrival and 2:00 p.m. departure / 3:08 p.m. arrival
Hamilton–Ottawa: 10:25 a.m. departure / 11:29 a.m. arrival and 6:35 p.m. departure / 7:39 p.m. arrival
The new route builds on Porter’s recent expansion in Hamilton, including previously announced service between Hamilton and Montreal Metropolitan Airport (MET). The airline now serves 12 year-round and seasonal destinations from Hamilton, including routes to Florida and Mexico.
Onboard, Porter continues to offer complimentary beer and wine served in glassware, along with Canadian snacks. PorterReserve fares include added benefits such as no-fee flight changes, extra legroom, priority services and two checked bags, while PorterClassic fares allow travellers to select add-ons à la carte.
The Hamilton–Ottawa service marks the latest step in Porter’s broader domestic growth strategy, with increased focus on secondary airports and regional connectivity.
