One of the best premium economy cabins is getting a little more luxe.

Emirates is upgrading its premium economy seats to include fully electric controls and a full-length privacy divider between seats.

The enhancements will debut on the Dubai-based carrier’s new Airbus A350 aircraft. They mark the first-ever electric premium economy seat and the fare class's first full-length divider in the industry.

Passengers can use buttons on the seat’s Passenger Control Unit to automatically adjust the positioning of their seat. There will also be pre-set positions like lounge mode and meal mode, similar to offerings in most business class cabins.

When the seats recline, they’re designed to cradle the passenger without encroaching on the fliers in the row behind.

The new full privacy screen also automatically raises and lowers at the touch of a button.

The revamped premium economy seats will include additional new perks, too, such as a U-dream adjustable headrest by Safran Seats and wireless charging capabilities.

The upgraded cabins will feature 28 seats in a 2-3-2 configuration. Each seat is 20 inches wide with up to 39 inches of legroom.

Familiar comforts of the original seats will still be included in the new design, like the manually deployable leather footrest and legrest, USB-C charging port, and 13.3-inch 4K entertainment screen.

Premium economy passengers also get access to an upgraded in-flight meal menu, exclusive premium wines, and an amenity kit with Aveda skincare products.
