Air Canada has announced a goodwill policy to give passengers travelling through Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) or Montréal-Trudeau International Airport (YUL) more flexibility during the peak holiday period.The policy applies to all itineraries connecting through YYZ or YUL, for tickets issued on or before December 18, 2025, with original travel dates between December 19 and December 24, 2025.Under the policy, customers connecting through Toronto or Montreal are allowed one free change from a connecting itinerary to a non-stop flight, up to two hours before departure. Rebooking is only permitted on Air Canada operated flights in the same cabin as ticketed.
RELATED: How to Survive Holiday Travel at Canada’s Busiest AirportsFor example, a passenger ticketed to travel YVR-YYZ-YUL on December 22 can switch to a YVR-YUL non-stop flight without penalty or additional charges, provided travel occurs within the rebooking window.Change fees and additional charges are waived within the rebooking window. Outside of this window, standard fare rules apply. Changes of origin or destination are not permitted under this policy.For customer contact centres and travel agencies, Air Canada advises using code ACAHOL2025 when processing a ticket exchange. Refunds will follow the original fare rules. Aeroplan tickets will be handled directly by Aeroplan.Air Canada notes that for any itinerary with a flight cancellation, please follow the procedures outlined in the Schedule Change or Flight Disruption Policy.
