Air Canada is rolling out a new collection of bedding and in-flight amenities across its international network, including upgraded blankets, pillows, duvets and amenity kits for pax travelling in all cabins.

The new collection begins launching this month and includes enhanced bedding in Signature Class, larger blankets in Premium Economy and Economy, and redesigned amenity kits developed in partnership with Canadian companies Hunter Amenities and Sahajan.

The airline says the updates are intended to improve passenger comfort on long-haul flights.

"From the generously sized Premium Economy and Economy Class blanket that keeps you comfortable from shoulders to feet, to our new plush Signature Class duvets, every element introduced as part of this launch was thoughtfully chosen to help customers settle in, relax and rest throughout their journey," said Jacqueline Harkness, Managing Director, Products & Services at Air Canada.

"We've spent meaningful time with our customers, getting their perspective on what would make a flight more relaxing and restful. Then we went to work investing in high-quality products that deliver the very best that leading Canadian partners have to offer."

Air Canada partnered with Canadian hospitality supplier Hunter Amenities to design and manufacture the new amenity kits. The kits are packaged in reusable drawstring bags and include travel essentials such as eye masks, earplugs, socks and bamboo toothbrushes.

"Working closely with Air Canada, we designed every component – from the drawstring bag to the eye mask and socks – to be used well beyond the flight, bringing added purpose to high-quality travel essentials for customers," said John Hunter, Founder at Hunter Amenities.

The airline also collaborated with Canadian skincare brand Sahajan to include two products in its Signature Class amenity kit: Lip Karma lip balm and The Hand Remedy hand cream. Both products are manufactured by Hunter Amenities in Burlington, Ont.

"With cabin humidity often 10 to 20 per cent, air travel can quickly dehydrate the skin, especially the delicate skin on our hands and lips," said Lisa Mattam, Founder and CEO of Sahajan.

"We're proud to partner with Air Canada to bring Sahajan's blend of clinical science and time-tested Ayurvedic wisdom to their amenities program, sharing our natural wellness products with Air Canada's customers on international routes."

Beginning this month, customers travelling internationally can expect:

Economy and Premium Economy: New six-foot polar fleece blankets designed to provide full-body coverage.

Premium Economy: Amenity kits with a contoured eye mask, 3M earplugs, knitted socks and a bamboo toothbrush with Colgate toothpaste.

Signature Class: A new duvet, upgraded pillow and amenity kit featuring an adjustable eye mask, Sahajan skincare products, 3M earplugs, cotton cabin socks, a bamboo toothbrush, dental floss and a reusable recycled cotton drawstring bag.
