Canadians Take Top Honours at 2018 Travvy Awards

Canadians took home a number of top honours at the "Oscars of the travel industry", the fourth annual Travvy Awards held last week in NYC. Held at Gotham Hall, the awards honour the best and brightest in the industry.

The Travvy winners are selected by working travel agents who have direct knowledge about each and every category, company and organization nominated. The dozens of categories include destinations, hotels and resorts, cruise lines and tour operators.

Taking home Gold in the Best Escorted Tour Operator, Adventure/Expedition was G Adventures.

Winning Gold for Best Vacation Packager, Australia/New Zealand/South Pacific was Goway Travel, who also took home Silver for Best Escorted Tour Operator, Asia.

Members of Allianz Global Assistance who took home Gold in the Best Travel Insurance Provider - Overall category.

John Kirk and Mark Murphy flock Skybird Travel and Tours' Akshay Shah who took home Gold for Best Airline Consolidator - Overall.

Members of the Playa Hotels & Resorts team received top accolades, with Hyatt Ziva Cancun being named as the Best Individual Resort Overall for the second year in a row.

In its fourth year, the Travvy Awards are hosted by TravAlliance CEO Mark Murphy, (the parent company of TravelPulse and TravelPulse Canada).

More than 300 travel professionals from the US and Canada attend the event, highly regarded as a "must" in the industry.
