A holiday season visit to Canada’s only Club Med location offered the gifts of overwhelmingly excellent service, food, drink and outdoor activities. The all-inclusive Club Med Charlevoix is a winter enthusiast’s dream come true.

The modern 300-plus room resort is set at the base of the Le Massif ski resort, where the vertical drop is 770 m (2,526 ft), the highest in Eastern Canada.  It is also one of the few ski areas accessible from both the base and summit. The Club Med property also overlooks a scenic stretch of the iconic St. Lawrence River.

During a recent TravelPulse Canada’s visit, a holiday season crowd of families with children took advantage of the ski-in/ski-out facilities and the included daily lift tickets that carry a value of roughly $500.00 per day for a family of four. Also included are ski lessons for adults and kids in small groups of 12 or less. Located a 90-minute drive from Quebec City, Club Med Charlevoix is an all-season resort, but in winter the spotlight is on skiing and snowboarding, as well as other outdoor activities including hiking, Nordic walking, snowshoeing, ice-skating, broomball, ice fishing, dog sledding and snowmobiling.

Club Med Charlevoix

The biggest heated pool of any Club Med mountain resort offers a glorious view of the St. Lawrence, and there are outdoor hot tubs to soothe sore skiing muscles. The resort offers a wide range of wellness-oriented amenities, including a high-tech fitness centre, spa (extra charge) and a large offering of yoga and guided meditation courses.

The Charlevoix region is the breadbasket of Quebec, and Club Med sources much of its cuisine ingredients locally, including specialty cheeses and meats. The included beverages feature many local microbreweries among the selection. The bulk of Club Med Quebec Charlevoix’s public areas are housed in a central building, with attractive architecture and décor inspired by Quebec and First Nations people. The building houses the property’s two main restaurants, the buffet-style Le Marché and Le Chalet, a gourmet restaurant featuring a sprawling daily charcuterie offering, as well as upcharged treats like a Tomahawk steak or fondue presentation. The main building also houses the included children’s club, a teen’s club with a pool table, an indoor pool complex gift shop, wine bar, lounge bar, main bar, and theatre area.

“For families with younger kids, Club Med Charlevoix is delivering excellent value right now with Kids Stay Free offers and other promotions including up to 50% off.” says TravelPulse Canada’s John Kirk.

“There was something for everyone to do at any time, both indoors and outdoors. The GMs and GOs were engaging and offered amazing service.”Added Kirk
