G Adventures and National Geographic Expeditions announced a renewed commitment to another 10 years of meaningful, community-driven tourism.
Launched in 2015, the collaboration introduced National Geographic Journeys with G Adventures, and later expanded in 2019 to include National Geographic Family Journeys.
According to G Adventures, the partnership has created over 100 itineraries in 52 countries, connecting travellers with local communities, culture, and conservation efforts — all while supporting National Geographic’s legacy of exploration, science, and education.
“This is an exciting time for G Adventures, as we celebrate ten years of incredibly successful collaboration with our friends at National Geographic Expeditions,” said Ben Perlo, CEO of G Adventures.
“What started as a shared vision and an opportunity in the group travel market has grown into a collection of truly life-changing experiences, whose positive ripple effects can be felt by local people, wildlife and destinations all around the world.”
According to Perlo, demand for these experiences continues to grow, driven by travellers seeking deeper connections, authentic encounters, and responsible tourism options.
The numbers reflect that impact: the partnership has supported 25 social enterprise projects and benefited more than 50,000 people through community tourism.
Many of these projects are part of G Adventures’ G for Good initiatives, like visiting a non-profit café in Athens where groups hear firsthand from a guide who previously experienced homelessness.
Nancy Schumacher, senior vice president and general manager of National Geographic Expeditions, commented on the significance of the milestone.
“National Geographic Expeditions’ core belief is the importance of exploration, and we strive to create unique and authentic expeditions that inspire travellers to care about the world around them,” she said.
“Together, we’re thrilled to continue developing meaningful and immersive ways for travellers and families alike to truly connect with the people and cultures of destinations around the world.”
