Global tour operator Globus says it is going small in a big way in 2025, highlighted by the introduction of more than 50 Small Group Discovery Tours, an entirely new type of tour for the company, specifically designed for travellers who crave the intimacy of small group travel.
“Our new Small Group Discovery tours were built from the ground-up, specifically for small groups, with unique accommodations, exclusive excursions and special access throughout Europe, North America, Asia, Africa, South America and the South Pacific.” said Scott Nisbet, president and CEO for the Globus family of brands.
With an average group size of 15 (18 outside of Europe), Globus says its Small Group Discovery tours will offer more freedom, more flexibility and more room to roam the ruins of Italy, the rainforests of Costa Rica, the pagodas of Japan and the preserves of Kenya, leading travellers to private wine tastings, cooking classes, art classes and quaint estates along the way.
Available exclusively on Small Group Discovery tours, immersive experiences travellers can look forward to include:
· Spending the night in a former Franciscan Monastery in Pienza (Enchanting Italy).
· Partaking in an after-hours poetry reading at William Wordsworth’s home. (Extraordinary England & Scotland)
· Enjoying a choir performance at Geghard monastery (A Journey Through Time: Armenia & Georgia).
· Embarking on a “Viking” sushi tour (Inspiring Iceland).
· Guided sightseeing with a local painter followed by a painting class in Arles (Paris & Provence).
· “Glamping” in luxurious tents with Yellowstone as the backdrop (Majestic Montana & Yellowstone).
· Learning how to make Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki with local ingredients (Majestic Japan)
Globus says it is dedicated to going small across its portfolio in 2025. In addition to new Small Group Discovery tours, special small group departure dates will be available on most other Globus tours, limiting group size to an average of 24 travellers. That means Globus will now offer nearly 250 small-group tours with 5,000 departures.
The operator says the small group focus means “bigger, better” profits for travel advisors.

“Advisors already count on us for commissions with a comma and the best, most timely payment promise in travel,” said Camille Olivere, chief sales officer for the Globus family of brands. “Now, we’re showcasing for them all the ways they can deliver ‘small’ in great, big ways for clients. We are an advisor’s one-stop-shop for ‘wow’ next year.
Olivere continues: “With an average per diem of $500, our Small Group Discovery tours deliver a premium product to clients. Promising fewer fellow travellers and incredible, immersive experiences, these new tours invite advisors to introduce the many benefits of touring to clients while earning higher profits with the click of a button,” said Olivere.
“Our partners know that every dime spent with Globus translates to commissions earned.”
Olivere says that from river cruising to 12 different styles of land touring, Globus offers a huge range of choice for advisors with clients seeking smaller groups.
“What advisors might not know is that nearly our entire touring portfolio can be sold ‘small,’ including small group departure dates on a vast selection of vacations. These special departures are available on 75 percent (75%) of Globus tours and average just 24 guests.”
