G Adventures has added a selection of new ‘Classic’ trips to its portfolio of adventures for 2025, including value-for-money safaris in Africa and multi-country trips in Central America previously only available to travellers aged up to 39. In addition, the community tourism-focused operator is going back to Tibet and expanding its itineraries in China and South Korea.

Yves Marceau, vice president of product at G Adventures, says the expansion of trips for all ages in Africa and Central America is the result of the operator identifying an increasingly older customer looking for more ‘basic, grass roots’ adventure experiences at affordable prices.

“When we looked at the data, we could clearly see the time is right to open up a set of fast-paced, longer, more basic itineraries to an older crowd looking to see and do as much as they can. These trips have been traditionally more popular with younger travellers who typically have less money and more time, but we now have a growing segment of customers who are getting older, yet still looking for a more ‘rugged’ and exploratory style of adventure. Our new trips are perfect for them, and the prices can’t be beaten,” says Marceau.

In Africa, the new Classic trip will feature G Adventures’ fully refurbished fleet of ‘Lando’ overland vehicles, which as well as having cosmetic ‘glow-up’ have been updated with functional bells and whistles, including an improved purified water dispenser, the latest technology to improve driving efficiency and safety, upgraded USB charging units for each seat, and new camping equipment, including upgraded tents, chairs and mattresses.

In Central America, accommodation will remain basic, but the expanding of the age ranges means travellers older than 39 will now be able to explore deeper, and have access to El Salvador and Honduras, countries previously only able to be visited on G Adventures’ '18-To-Thirtysomethings' trips.

G Adventures is also bringing Tibet back for the first time since before the pandemic, as China relaxes visa requirements for a number of countries. South Korea has also been trending up, so G says the time was right to introduce a new Classic tour that can be combined with perennially popular Japan.
