Small group tour company, G Adventures, has launched 20 new exciting trips in the islands of Indonesia.

Yves Marceau, vice president of product at G Adventures said in a statement, “We wanted to bring something exciting to Indonesia that introduced G Adventures travelers to the true culture and adventure that exists there. Indonesia is undoubtedly a popular tourism destination, but most travel opportunities in the region focus on Bali and Lombok, while other locations and communities remain unseen.”

He added, “We wanted to revamp our trips to the country – and create entirely new ones – to give travelers the chance to spend more time at community projects in well-known islands, or travel deeper in the country, taking them much further off the beaten path. This brings the benefits of tourism income to other parts of Indonesia but also gives travelers the opportunity to be truly adventurous and learn from the fascinating communities that live here.”

20 new G Adventures trips in Indonesia include:

Sulawesi Adventure: The Culture of Tana Toraja

The nine-day off-the-tourist-trail journeys into the heart of Sulawesi with misty highlands and lush paddy terraces. In Tana Toraja, life, death and the afterlife intertwine in ways that challenge and surprise.

Groups meet the Torajan people, explore villages with traditional cliffside tombs and elaborate funeral ceremonies honoring loved ones for generations, with the possibility of attending a once-in-a-lifetime Torajan funeral experience. From $1,449 per person, departures from December 14, 2025.

Indonesia: Borneo Orangutans of Tanjung Puting National Park

The seven-day journey heads into the wild heart of Indonesian Borneo in search of the elusive orangutan and includes three nights aboard a traditional klotok boat, with local-prepared meals, treks through dense rainforest by day and night and a visit to the Tanjung Harapan Orangutan Rehabilitation Center.

A trip to Camp Leakey, a renowned and crucial orangutan conservation and rehabilitation center established by renowned primatologist, Dr. Biruté Galdikas in the 1970s, offers a chance to watch rangers feeding the orangutans and a visit to Tanjung Harapan village provides insight into the locals and their relationship with the rainforest. From $1,449 per person, departures from November 8, 2025.

Highlights of Sumatra

A seven-day journey immerses travelers in a side of Indonesia few get to see. Adventures include jungle treks, hidden villages and wildlife encounters, including a hike through the lush Gunung Leuser National Park in search of the elusive Sumatran orangutan.

The itinerary includes exhilarating river tube rides, soaks in steamy hot springs under the stars and trips to several local villages, including the traditional Karo Batak Dokan Village. From $899 per person, departures from October 8, 2025.

Other new 2025 trips include
