Porter Airlines announced four new nonstop routes from Ottawa this winter, increasing its service to Mexico, the Caribbean and Costa Rica by more than 80% compared to last year.
The airline is launching service from Ottawa International Airport (YOW) to Aruba on November 7, followed by Montego Bay, Jamaica; Providenciales, Turks and Caicos; and Los Cabos, Mexico, in the coming weeks.
Porter will be the only airline offering nonstop flights from Ottawa to Aruba, Los Cabos and Turks and Caicos.
The new routes add to Porter's existing southern flights from Ottawa, which includes Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, Nassau, Grand Cayman and Liberia, Costa Rica, along with five destinations in Florida.

In total, Porter plans to operate nearly 600 flights from Ottawa to Mexico, the Caribbean and Costa Rica this winter, an increase of more than 80% over the previous year.
“This is an unprecedented variety of flight options for National Capital Region residents looking for winter escapes,” said Edmond Eldebs, senior vice president and chief commercial officer, Porter Airlines.
“Porter’s network continues to expand for travellers, with more non-stop flights to destinations where they want to fly.”
The new Ottawa routes will operate on the following schedule:

All four routes will be operated using Porter's 132-seat Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, with two-by-two seating configuration and no middle seats.
Passengers receive complimentary beer and wine, Canadian snacks and free Wi-Fi.

Vacation packages combining Porter flights with accommodations, ground transportation and excursions are also available through Transat for travel from Ottawa to Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, Nassau, Grand Cayman, Liberia and Aruba.
