A collision between a car and a bus carrying several Quebecers occurred in Cuba on Sunday, leaving one dead and many injured.
Air Transat customers were among the passengers. The bus was transporting 38 passengers from Montreal-bound flight TS715 to Santa Clara airport.
The travellers were returning from the Cayo Santa María hotel.
According to information reported by Cuban media, the driver of the car who colluded with the bus lost his life, losing control of his vehicle before hitting the bus.
Among the 38 Air Transat passengers on board, several were injured, some seriously.
By email, an Air Transat spokesperson indicated that all passengers were immediately treated and transported to a nearby hospital

Some tourists spent the night in hospital and the others were accommodated in the Hotel La Granjita, near the airport.
Monday evening, the air carrier announced that some of the Quebecers involved in the accident could return to the country the same evening. “Our goal is for them all to be back in the country tomorrow.”
