After 12 years with Transat and a long and distinguished travel industry career, Susan Bowman has announced her retirement.
Bowman's most recent role was VP Marketing and Industry Relations for Transat. But during her career, she held positions in both wholesale and retail settings, in the areas of marketing, sales, industry relations, operations and loyalty.
"Susan has been an essential asset to our leadership team," said Karine Gagnon, General Manager, Transat Distribution Canada. "Her keen eye for opportunity, her constant focus around customer experiences and her passion for what she likes to call 'home' (Transat) have made her a key player in our organization."
Gagnon says that in recent years Bowman helped TDC travel professionals to be best-positioned and equipped to deal with the current resurgence in travel through integrating new digital tools and promotions. She was also integral to negotiating TDC's membership in the Virtuoso luxury travel network.
Bowman has also been responsible for TDC's Agent@Home program. Gagnon says her last notable project will be the launch of TDC digital gift cards, set for April.
"On behalf of our entire team, I would like to sincerely thank Susan for her commitment and contribution to TDC and Transat over the years. Always striving for excellence, she will have left her mark, and I am certain she will be missed by her colleagues as well as our travel agency owners," added Gagnon.
Spanning close to 40 years, Bowman started her travel industry career at American Express Canada. She worked with INTRA Travel Corporation, Thomas Cook Canada and Loyalty One before joining Transat in 2011.
Bowman's last day on the job will be April 7. All of us at TravelPulse Canada wish her a long and happy retirement.
