When Travis and Paula Stewart opened the doors of Stewart Travel Group in 2014, their goal was simple, '"Take care of people." Nearly a decade later, that philosophy led to special recognition as they were awarded the "2023 Excellence in Customer Service Award" from the Greater Charlottetown Area Chamber of Commerce.
"We're humbled and honoured." Travis said. "Being recognized by the Chamber for this award is a privilege, as we've always done our best to give our clients the best service possible. Over the past few years the travel industry has gone through so much turmoil, and for us, making sure our clients are taken care of has always been our top priority."
The Stewarts built their reputation and business one client at a time and have expanded the agency beyond their doors in Prince Edward Island. Their team of 16 now includes home-based Associate Advisors in both Nova Scotia and New Brunswick.
"I am so grateful to not only have wonderful people on our team, but to be blessed with so many clients who have become friends over the years," Paula said. "For us, that's a sign that we've done things well."
The Greater Charlottetown Area Chamber of Commerce is the second largest in the Maritimes, with more than 1,100 member businesses and organizations employing upwards of 20,000 people. Their annual President's Excellence Awards Gala recognizes Island business in seven categories. The Excellence in Customer Service award is given to a business that has shown a strong commitment to outstanding customer service, customer loyalty, community involvement, and has demonstrated innovation within their sector.
Along with serving their clients, Stewart Travel Group has been committed to supporting the Island community and organizations like Stars for Life, Hospice PEI, United Way of PEI, and more.
The PEI-based travel agency has gained a reputation for quality travel experiences over their nine years in operation. Specializing in hosted group travel, they've won numerous awards, including many Top Agency and Advisor awards in Canada (with The Travel Agent Next Door) from 2016 to 2021.
