Flair Airlines has announced a planned leadership transition, naming Len Corrado as its new CEO effective February 9. He succeeds Maciej Wilk, who is departing following the “completion of a defined transformation phase.”

According to a press release, Wilk leaves after leading a multi-year effort focused on strengthening operational discipline, improving reliability and aligning the airline’s business model more closely with the realities of the Canadian market.

“My mandate was always clear: bring discipline, reliability, and cost efficiency into the business, and be rigorously honest about what works and what doesn’t,” said Wilk.

“Together, we built a more reliable airline, strengthened operational and financial performance, repositioned the business for long-term sustainability and created a solid foundation ready for the next phase of growth. This transition has been thoughtfully planned, and I’m proud to pass the CEO baton to Len Corrado, a highly respected industry leader with extensive Canadian aviation experience and perspective. I leave with full confidence in the team, the strategy, and what comes next.”

The transition comes as Wilk has been increasingly candid about the airline’s evolution. In a recent ask-me-anything interview with TravelPulse Canada, Wilk said traditional “copy-paste ULCC” strategies do not work in Canada’s highly seasonal and geographically vast market, noting that Flair has consciously repositioned itself as a value carrier rather than a pure ultra-low-cost operator.

“We’re no longer a ULCC. We are a value carrier,” Wilk said at the time, pointing to tailored operational planning, changes in distribution strategy and a renewed focus on reliability as pillars of the airline’s three-year turnaround.

Incoming CEO Len Corrado brings decades of experience in Canadian aviation across airline operations, commercial strategy and leisure travel. He most recently served as president of Sunwing Airlines. Flair said Corrado’s background aligns with its next phase, including the expansion of Flair Vacations and continued development of its value-carrier model.

“Flair has made meaningful progress over the past several years, and the momentum is clear,” said Corrado.

“I’m excited to join an airline on the rise, to work alongside the team, and to build on the strong foundation already in place. I look forward to working with my team to drive the next stage of growth together.”

The airline said the leadership change followed a deliberate search process and reflects confidence in continuity across operations, strategy and execution. Flair confirmed its strategic priorities will continue without interruption, with an ongoing focus on affordability, reliability and value for travellers.

“On behalf of the Board, I want to thank Maciej for the focus and discipline he brought to building a strong foundation for Flair’s future,” said Jim Young, Flair’s board chair.

“Len’s leadership experience and deep industry relationships position him well to guide the airline through its next phase, including the growth of Flair Vacations, expanded access through GDS, and the continued evolution of our value-carrier strategy.”
