Many islands of the Caribbean are not exactly known to be LGBT-friendly, but hopefully, events like Caribbean Pride 2017 could help to change that.
This September, Blue Diamond Resorts and CHIC Punta Cana, will host the first ever Caribbean Pride 2017. The event, being held from September 16 to 23 and the first of its kind from the resort management company, is described as a week-long celebration of pride, diversity and community.
"We are proud to join in the annual pride celebrations that take place all around the world," said Jordi Pelfort, Managing Director. "It's the perfect time for us to show the global LGBT community we're standing alongside them, and we want to give everyone a welcoming and inclusive experience."
Taking place at "Punta Cana's sexiest and most luxurious all-inclusive resort", the vision of the event is to create a welcome experience for members of the LGBT community, complete with luxurious first-class accommodations, premium drinks and gourmet dining, in an Adults-only environment. CHIC Punta Cana has a vibe and poolside atmosphere to rival hot spots such as Vegas and South Beach.
The week-long event will include activities geared towards LGBT travellers with entertainment from international DJs and drag performers. Add-on excursions are available including everything from an exciting night of dancing at Imagine, a nightclub located inside a series of caves, to something more laid back, like a day of snorkeling among stingrays and sharks in the deep waters off Punta Cana. Also available are VIP packages like a Moet & Chandon Cabana package or the Couples Ritual in the spa,
"We can't think of a better way to show we're proud than throwing a seven-day celebration!" said Christine Jamieson, Corporate Director of Marketing at Blue Diamond Resorts. "We're planning a lively event with plenty of special guests from around the world including legendary drag queens, days full of campy fun, exclusive excursions and light-hearted celebration from sunup to sundown."
Caribbean Pride is presenting sponsor for a kickoff to Toronto Pride event at Cabana Pool Bar on June 21, as well as having a presence at Pride festitivities in Toronto, New York, and Chicago this June.
Packages to CHIC Punta Cana during Caribbean Pride are available through Sunwing Vacations, Signature Vacations, and Air Canada Vacations.
