Royalton Hotels & Resorts announced Royalton Forward, a new program that brings its ongoing property renovations, upgrades and operational improvements under one umbrella.

Royalton Forward covers improvements to guest rooms, public spaces, swimming pools, restaurants, entertainment venues and other amenities. It also includes operational upgrades and behind-the-scenes work that may not be immediately visible to guests.

According to the company, renovations and improvements will be carried out in phases, with projects planned around resort operations to minimize disruptions for guests.

For travel advisors, the program provides a clearer picture of Royalton's ongoing investment in its properties, particularly when recommending resorts to returning clients or travellers concerned about the condition of accommodations and facilities.

Rather than focusing solely on major renovations, the initiative also includes smaller updates intended to maintain existing facilities and address operational needs.

Sustainability Part of Resort Improvements

Environmental initiatives are also included in Royalton Forward, with the company incorporating renewable energy and waste-reduction measures into its property upgrades.

At Royalton Riviera Cancun and Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun, new solar panel systems are being installed. According to Royalton, its properties currently generate a combined 1,236 megawatt-hours (MWh) of solar energy annually.

The company is also expanding its use of Vero Water systems, which provide filtered drinking water as an alternative to single-use plastic bottles.

Royalton says the systems, currently used in bars and restaurants across its portfolio, have eliminated the need for more than 12 million single-use plastic bottles annually.

The initiative is now being extended to additional guest areas, including rooms and water dispensers at more resorts in Cancun and Jamaica.

Maintaining Standards as Royalton Expands

The introduction of Royalton Forward comes as the company continues to expand its presence in existing and new destinations.

By establishing a portfolio-wide program, Royalton said it aims to maintain consistent property standards while allowing individual resorts to undergo improvements without requiring full closures.

The company has not announced a specific investment amount, timeline or complete list of properties scheduled for renovations under the program.
