Wellness is taking on a broader role at all-inclusive resorts, moving beyond the traditional spa visit to include alcohol-free stays, fitness, mindfulness, outdoor activities and programming for younger travellers.
Across its All-Inclusive by Marriott Bonvoy portfolio in the Caribbean and Mexico, Marriott is highlighting a range of wellness experiences available during Wellness Month and throughout the year.
At W Punta Cana, Adult All-Inclusive, the brand’s first all-inclusive W Hotels property, guests can opt for a Zero Proof Package built around alcohol-free travel. The package includes unlimited zero-proof cocktails and an alcohol-free beverage program, while guests retain access to the resort’s restaurants, entertainment and activities. A minimum three-night stay is required.
In Mexico, Almare, a Luxury Collection Resort, Isla Mujeres, Adult All-Inclusive will mark World Wellness Weekend from Sept. 18 to 20 with a schedule that includes yoga, a cacao ceremony, seaside sculpt and fitness sessions, an intentional cooking class, breathwork followed by a cold plunge, restorative mat sessions and sound healing.
Movement is the focus at The Westin Playa Vallarta, An All-Inclusive Resort, where guests have access to the Westin Run route and cycling excursions through Marina Vallarta. Beachfront yoga, guided meditation and grounding activities are also available, alongside treatments at the Heavenly Spa.
At Marriott Cancun, An All-Inclusive Resort, the approach is considerably slower paced. Guests can book private oceanfront cabanas overlooking the Caribbean and arrange massages by the ocean from their cabana.
Nature plays a larger role at Delta Hotels by Marriott Riviera Nayarit, An All-Inclusive Resort, which is surrounded by the mountains of Riviera Nayarit. Its aquatic facilities include a Natural Pool, Lazy River and family areas, along with the Aqua Jungle & River experience.
Marriott is also extending wellness programming to children and teenagers.
At Hacienda del Mar Los Cabos, An Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort, Kids Spa and Teens Spa packages are available for guests between the ages of six and 17. Treatments can be customized with options including massages, facials, body scrubs, manicures and pedicures.
In Barbados, Waves Resort & Spa Barbados, An Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort combines yoga, Pilates and guided beach walks with non-motorized watersports. Guests staying at least three nights also receive a complimentary spa treatment.
The expanded programming reflects a broader shift in how resorts are approaching wellness, with activities increasingly incorporated throughout the stay rather than confined to the spa.
