TravelBrands raised $10,000 for SickKids Foundation through its annual SickKids Walk, held simultaneously in Toronto and Montreal on Aug. 25.
With all funds raised being matched, the initiative will result in a total contribution of $20,000 to SickKids.
More than 55 participants took part across the two cities, including members of the TravelBrands team, travel advisors and trade media.
"Seeing our teams and travel community come together for SickKids is incredibly meaningful," said Nathalie Tanious, President & CEO of H.I.S. Canada Travel Inc., parent company of TravelBrands.
"Every person who walked, donated and supported this initiative helped us reach an incredible $10,000. We are deeply grateful to our team, the trade media, and the travel advisors who participated, and are proud to continue supporting the extraordinary work of SickKids."
The annual walk is one of several fundraising initiatives TravelBrands has organized in support of SickKids Foundation. The company says its fundraising efforts over the years have contributed more than $3 million to the hospital.
TravelBrands' next SickKids fundraiser will be its annual Golf Classic on Sept. 9, which will again bring members of the travel industry together in support of the foundation.
