Nexion Travel Group has released a free e-booklet aimed at helping new and experienced travel advisors build businesses capable of generating $100,000 in annual earnings.
Titled Make Six Figures as a Travel Agent, the guide focuses on business strategies, including specialization, professional fees, increasing booking values and managing client relationships.
The release comes as travel advising continues to attract interest as a career. The profession has appeared on LinkedIn's annual Jobs on the Rise list for two consecutive years, while Nexion reports a 20% increase in people interested in becoming travel advisors in 2026.

“More people are discovering travel advising as a career, but loving travel and knowing how to plan an incredible trip are only part of the equation,” said Jackie Friedman, CTC, VTA, President, Nexion Travel Group.
“To make a real living at this, you have to think like a business owner. We created this guide to help advisors understand what it actually takes to build a business that can support both their financial goals and the life they want.”
Rather than focusing solely on increasing the number of bookings, the booklet examines how advisors can improve profitability by making more deliberate business decisions.
Among its recommendations are identifying a niche, clearly communicating the value of professional advice, charging appropriate service fees and increasing average booking values.
The guide also addresses the importance of balancing repeat and referral business with attracting new clients, as well as recognizing when certain bookings may not be worth the time required.
According to Nexion, advisors working with lower average booking values generally need to complete more transactions to reach the same income target. That can mean additional administrative work, client communications and itinerary revisions.

The company suggests that increasing booking values, consistently charging professional fees and offering travel insurance can help advisors improve revenue without necessarily taking on more clients.
“Being busy and being profitable are not the same thing,” Friedman said.
“Building a six-figure travel business isn’t about chasing every lead or working around the clock. It’s about designing a business model around your expertise, your value and the clients you are best positioned to serve. Once advisors understand that, the first $100,000 becomes a much more tangible goal and a foundation they can build on.”
The booklet is available free to travel advisors across the industry, regardless of whether they are affiliated with Nexion Travel Group.
