The Jamaica Tourist Board (JTB) has concluded its cross-country “Come Feel the Vibe Canada Roadshow,” aimed at promoting the island as a top destination for meetings, incentives, conferences, exhibitions (MICE), and group travel.
Held from June 2 to 5, the events brought together over 60 Canadian meeting planners and group specialists in Calgary, Montreal, and Toronto.
The roadshow kicked off in Calgary at The Baron Venue, stopped in Montreal at the Sofitel Carré Doré, and ended in Toronto at Chubby’s Jamaican Kitchen.
“MICE represents a major segment of our target audience and this is just one of the many ways we engage with these large groups to showcase all Jamaica has to offer,” said Angella Bennett, Regional Director for Canada, Jamaica Tourist Board.
“As Jamaica continues to build more infrastructure we look forward to having more of the MICE market on island.”
At each event, JTB Director of Sales Dan Hamilton led presentations on the island’s growing appeal for incentive, MICE, and corporate groups.
“The 'Come Feel the Vibe Canada Roadshow' allowed Destination Jamaica to directly engage with our valuable Canadian partners and showcase the unparalleled group offerings available in Jamaica,” said Hamilton.
“The enthusiasm and engagement from the attendees in Calgary, Montreal, and Toronto underscore the strong demand for Jamaica as a top-tier destination for meetings, incentives, and leisure groups.”
Attendees included representatives from tour operators and hotel groups such as Sunwing Vacations, Air Canada Vacations, H10 Hotels, Half Moon, Princess Resorts, Secrets Resorts, Sandals and Beaches, and Palladium Hotel Group.
Fifteen attendees walked away with three-night stay packages to Jamaica, awarded during giveaways held at each event.
JTB used the opportunity to highlight recent and upcoming developments in the destination, including the planned 1,250-room Moon Palace Montego Bay and the soon-to-open 450-room Unico Hotel, an adults-only all-inclusive resort in Montego Bay.
