MSC Cruises is positioning premium cruising as an alternative to traditional luxury all-inclusive resorts.
The cruise line says travellers can access many of the amenities associated with a five-star resort, while paying less and visiting multiple destinations during a single trip, via its MSC Yacht Club experience.

According to MSC Cruises, a five-star all-inclusive resort in The Bahamas costs approximately CAD $1,400 per night for two people, compared with about CAD $900 per night for two in the MSC Yacht Club.
The company says the Yacht Club includes premium accommodations, Wi-Fi, a premium beverage package, 24-hour butler and concierge service, priority embarkation and disembarkation, exclusive dining and lounge access, reserved seating for onboard entertainment and a private sun deck.

Guests sailing to The Bahamas also have access to exclusive areas at Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, MSC Cruises' private island destination, along with the option to book personalized shore excursions through the Yacht Club concierge.

The comparison comes as cruise lines continue to compete with land-based resorts for premium travellers, emphasizing the value of bundled pricing that includes accommodations, dining, entertainment and transportation between destinations.
For travel advisors, the comparison may provide another way to position premium cruise products with clients who are weighing the cost of a luxury Caribbean or Bahamian resort stay against a cruise vacation.
