Over the past two decades, many big-ship cruise lines have introduced a “ship-within-a-ship” concept, where top-tier suites are located in an exclusive multi-level enclave accessible only to guests staying there. These private complexes encompass their own restaurants, bars, lounges, and enhanced services. Cunard Line was the original pioneer of exclusive spaces with its Grills Class, but today Celebrity Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line, Princess Cruises, Royal Caribbean International, and MSC Cruises each offer their own version for discerning clients.
We recently sailed onboard MSC Seascape and experienced its private enclave, the MSC Yacht Club. Here is our take on the experience, and why advisors should sell it.
What is MSC Yacht Club?
MSC Yacht Club comprises a collection of suites with exclusive amenities, accessible by keycard or the MSC Yacht Club wristband. First launched in 2008 aboard MSC Fantasia, the majority of MSC’s fleet now features Yacht Club enclaves, and older vessels are being retrofitted with one during scheduled drydocks.
On MSC Seascape, 131 Yacht Club suites are located forward across the ship’s top three decks. Accommodations are appointed with premium interiors and upgraded amenities, including robes, slippers, a pillow menu, a Nespresso machine with coffee pods and teas, and a minibar that is replenished daily.
The MSC Yacht Club complex consists of several exclusive areas, starting with the Top Sail Lounge, where a bar serves beverages and light bites throughout the day. Its wall of windows - and outdoor seating - offer panoramic views over the bow. Above the lounge is a private restaurant, linked by a sparkling staircase lined with Swarovski crystals.
The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily in an open-seating format, with numerous tables for two, as well as larger ones for groups and families. The menu changes daily and features dishes like lobster and prime steaks – items that incur a charge in restaurants outside of Yacht Club.
On the top floor, guests will find a bar and buffet serving meals throughout the day, along with a private sundeck with loungers, pools, and whirlpools.

What Benefits Come With MSC Yacht Club?
In addition to the use of the private facilities, Yacht Club guests enjoy the service of a butler and concierge. They can arrange specialty dining reservations, shore excursions, and spa appointments - in short, anything that guests would normally have to line up for, at Guest Services. With these details taken care of, guests are free to better enjoy their vacation.
Additional perks include complimentary pressing of up to four articles of clothing, twice-a-day suite service, and nightly turn-downs with a different sweet treat delivered each evening. Butlers can also assist with unpacking and packing.
Complimentary beverages shipwide, Wi-Fi for up to two devices per person, and prepaid gratuities are all part of the MSC Yacht Club fare. Guests also enjoy unlimited access to the thermal suites in the MSC Aurea Spa—a space that carries a fee for non-Yacht Club guests.
A reserved section in the main theatre for Yacht Club guests means there’s no need to arrive early for shows. When guests are ready, they simply call their butler and are personally escorted to their seats.

Two Yacht Club Perks that We Especially Appreciated
Yacht Club guests’ wristbands can turn an elevator into an express one, whisking them to their desired floor without stopping for other passengers. On a ship like MSC Seascape, which can carry up to 5,877 guests, it’s an invaluable benefit. Before we discovered this capability, we often found ourselves in crowded elevators stopping at nearly every deck. Once we learned the trick, we used it every time and thoroughly enjoyed the private elevator experience.
In our opinion, the best Yacht Club benefit is priority boarding and disembarkation at every port of call.
Guests who book shore excursions through MSC Cruises meet in the Top Sail Lounge and are then personally escorted by their butler – not just to the gangway, but all the way to the tour meeting point ashore. On our excursion in Roatán, it was a nearly 10-minute walk through the crowded port area, but our butler knew exactly where to go and led us directly to the tour operator. (Guests exploring independently also receive a butler escort off and on the ship.)
Wherever possible, a separate gangway is reserved exclusively for Yacht Club guests. If one isn’t available, Yacht Club guests using the main gangway are escorted to the front of the line, a perk we experienced while disembarking in Costa Maya and returning to the ship from Roatán. On a big ship, these privileges save both time and frustration.

One Key Way MSC Yacht Club Differs From Competitors
Although amenities and services among cruise lines with private enclaves are broadly similar, MSC Yacht Club has one notable distinction: it has interior suites, while competitors do not. This creates two advantages for travellers:
Families who want a separate room for their children don’t have to pay a premium for additional balcony suites - kids can stay in an interior suite at substantial savings. We checked pricing on an early December 2026 MSC Seascape sailing, and the interior suite was CAD$1,274 per person less than the balcony, yet it comes with all Yacht Club benefits. For multi-generational families or friends travelling together, interior suites represent a more economical option for children or budget-conscious guests.
The lower-priced interior suites also provide curious guests an opportunity to experience the elevated Yacht Club lifestyle at a more accessible price point. During our sailing, we met a solo traveller who chose this option and was delighted with her decision.

How Much Does MSC Yacht Club Cost?
MSC Yacht Club comes at a premium compared with standard staterooms, much like flying business class versus economy. However, Yacht Club prices should not be compared to the least expensive inside cabin, as the experience and included benefits are entirely different. The real selling point is how it compares to the private enclaves of its competitors. Here is a pricing comparison for an early February 2027, 7-night Eastern Caribbean sailing from Miami (per person, double occupancy, including taxes and fees, prices available at the time of writing):
- MSC World America Interior Yacht Club Suite $4,700 / Balcony Yacht Club Suite $5,289
- Norwegian Luna Haven Penthouse $6,314
- Celebrity Beyond Sky Suite $5,259
MSC Yacht Club’s balcony suite is priced lower than Norwegian and only slightly above Celebrity. However, because MSC Yacht Club offers interior suites – and Celebrity and NCL do not - guests can experience Yacht Club spaces and benefits at a much lower price point.
Who is the Perfect Yacht Club Guest?
MSC Yacht Club is ideal for guests seeking elevated service, quiet private spaces, and a vacation without waiting in line. Advisors should also recommend it to big-ship enthusiasts celebrating a special occasion or milestone, luxury clients who want big-ship entertainment and amenities, and multi-generational groups with varying budgets who wish to stay together.
We also asked Donella Chong, senior travel consultant and ACC at Uniglobe Carefree Travel Group, for her perspective. A veteran cruise seller with 36 years of experience, Chong has sailed in MSC Yacht Club and loved it. “I would sell Yacht Club to luxury cruise guests who want the best of both worlds - access to the vibrant energy and amenities of a large ship while still being able to retreat to a peaceful, private sanctuary at any time. The Yacht Club delivers exactly that balance,” Chong told Travel Pulse Canada. According to Chong, the highly personalized butler service and front-of-the-line-escort service are among the features she emphasizes most when selling Yacht Club to clients. In her opinion, “MSC Yacht Club has made big-ship cruising more appealing than ever.” Finally, her advice to travel advisors is simple: “Sell MSC Yacht Club with confidence. Your clients will love the pampering and VIP treatment.”

Why Should Advisors Sell MSC Yacht Club?
MSC Yacht Club’s extensive benefits drive higher guest satisfaction, leading to repeat bookings and referrals. As one luxury cruise sales rep once said: “Once you go butler, you don’t go back.” Just as business-class travellers rarely want to go back to economy, once clients sail in Yacht Club, they are more likely to rebook the same accommodations, because they recognize the value of the elevated experience. Most importantly, it means more commission to you.
MSC Cruises supports advisors through a Canadian headquarters and call centre located in Mississauga, Ontario – the only cruise line with a full Canadian office. A nationwide team of BDMs is available to help grow your business.
