Disney Cruise Line will no longer require masks in most indoor locations on its ships beginning March 11.
The line announced the change in a message to travel advisors. It comes shortly after masks became optional in most areas of Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort.
There are some exceptions to the new DCL regulations. Guests two years and up will still be required to wear face masks in the Walt Disney Theatre, while those under five years of age who are currently ineligible to be vaccinated will be required to wear face coverings in Youth Activities.
Disney says it will continue to "strongly recommend guests wear a face-covering in all other indoor locations." But as this story is written aboard the inaugural cruise of Wonder of the Seas, it's very apparent that when travellers have the opportunity to remove their mask, they do so quickly and in large numbers.
