Holland America Line has opened bookings for its 2028 Alaska season, with cruises ranging from seven to 18 days aboard six ships.

The season will include roundtrip sailings from Seattle and Vancouver; cruises between Vancouver and Whittier, Alaska; and a new 11-day voyage from San Diego to Vancouver. Ships sailing in Alaska will include Oosterdam, Noordam, Eurodam, Koningsdam, Westerdam and Zaandam.

Overall, the season is “designed to give guests an even deeper connection to Alaska,” says Paul Grigsby, vice president of revenue planning and deployment for Holland America Line.

“What has always set Holland America Line apart in Alaska is our ability to combine the iconic experiences guests dream about with opportunities to see the destination in ways they haven't before,” says Grigsby. “Our 2028 season reflects that approach, pairing the Alaska highlights guests expect with a collection of distinctive experiences, from rare itineraries and lesser-traveled waterways to new ways of enjoying the journey on board.”

One of the new itineraries is the 11-day California to Alaska: Shores, Fjords & Glaciers cruise aboard Zaandam, departing San Diego on April 29, 2028. The itinerary will visit Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve, Juneau, Ketchikan, Wrangell, Klawock and Prince Rupert before ending in Vancouver.

The season also will introduce scenic cruising through Nootka Sound on select Great Alaska Explorer and Great Bear Rainforest itineraries. The waterway is located along the west coast of Vancouver Island.

Oosterdam will make its Alaska debut following a major renovation under Holland America Line's Evolution initiative. The ship will feature new Solo Verandah staterooms, Bridgeview Suites with forward-facing views and a Grand Dutch Café, along with updated staterooms, suites and public areas.

Oosterdam also will serve as the primary ship for Holland America Line's Alaska Cruisetours, which combine an Alaska cruise with overland travel to destinations including Denali and the Yukon. Details for the 2028 Cruisetours have not yet been released.

“Alaska's scenery is already unforgettable, and Oosterdam will give guests even more ways to experience it,” says Grigsby. “From taking in the mountains and glaciers from a new Bridgeview Suite to pairing a cruise with an unforgettable journey into Denali and the Yukon, Oosterdam will offer guests new ways to connect with Alaska both on board and ashore.”

The 2028 schedule also includes 14-day Great Alaska Explorer cruises aboard Noordam, sailing roundtrip from Seattle; an 18-day Great Bear Rainforest & Alaska Explorer cruise aboard Zaandam, sailing roundtrip from Vancouver; and a new 16-day Great Bear Rainforest & Alaska Explorer cruise aboard Oosterdam, also roundtrip from Vancouver.

Holland America will operate 36 seven-day Glacier Discovery departures between Vancouver and Whittier during the season. The itineraries will visit Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve, Juneau, Skagway and Ketchikan, with a visit to either College Fjord or Hubbard Glacier.

The line also will operate 46 seven-day Alaska Inside Passage departures from Vancouver and 45 seven-day Alaska Explorer departures from Seattle.

Holland America's 2028 Alaska program includes more than 200 shore excursions, as well as onboard programming featuring Alaska experts, National Park Service rangers and wildlife experts. Itineraries include visits to destinations such as Glacier Bay, Hubbard Glacier, Dawes Glacier, Tracy Arm and College Fjord.

For a limited time, guests booking select 2028 Alaska cruises can receive Holland America's Have It All Early Booking Bonus, which includes shore excursion credit, specialty dining, an Elite Beverage Package, premium Wi-Fi, prepaid Crew Appreciation and the line's Best Price Guarantee. The offer is subject to availability and additional terms.
