Explora Journeys is introducing a new onboard programme aboard EXPLORA II for the Winter 2026-2027 season, combining Mediterranean-inspired wellness, culinary experiences and cultural programming designed to reflect the region's quieter off-season.
Branded A Serene Mediterranean, the seasonal offering focuses on discovery, reflection and renewal, with new experiences available as the ship sails through the Mediterranean during the winter months.
"Our Serene Mediterranean Journeys reflect the way today's discerning guests increasingly want to travel," said Anna Nash, President of Explora Journeys.
"They are seeking experiences that feel more connected, more immersive and more personal. Every element of the journey has been designed to reflect the character of the destinations we visit, from seasonal gastronomy and Ocean Wellness to enriching cultural encounters."
Among the new offerings are chef-led Shore-to-Table excursions, which pair guided visits to local markets with onboard cooking classes in the ship's Chef's Kitchen.
In Palermo, guests will explore the Mercato del Capo before preparing Sicilian coastal dishes inspired by the day's fresh seafood and produce. In Marseille, the experience includes a private boat trip to the Vieux-Port fish market followed by a bouillabaisse masterclass onboard. Barcelona's itinerary combines a visit to La Boqueria market with a paella cooking class.
Additional culinary excursions will be available in destinations including Bari and Brindisi, where guests can visit vineyards, olive groves and local producers before enjoying regional cuisine.
The cruise line is also introducing Meet the Winemaker experiences, including a visit to Il Palagio, the Tuscan estate owned by Sting and Trudie Styler, featuring vineyard tours, wine tastings and lunch.
During the Mediterranean truffle harvest from October through November, guests will also have access to a complimentary Truffle Season menu across the fleet, featuring daily dishes showcasing Piedmont truffles paired with regional wines.
Wellness also takes centre stage throughout the season with an expanded Ocean Wellness programme that includes yoga, meditation, breathwork, sound experiences and movement classes, all included in the cruise fare.
A highlight is A Path to Inner Discovery, a complimentary 12-day wellness programme offered during EXPLORA II's Barcelona-to-Lisbon sailing from Feb. 11-23, 2027. The programme combines yoga, journalling, mantra practice and meditation alongside expert-led sessions on neuroscience, nutrition, movement and holistic wellbeing.
Featured wellness experts include psychologist and neuroscientist Dr. Helena Boschi, wellbeing specialist Carlie Barlow, astrologer Belinda Matwali, nutrition expert Kate Cook and movement coach Shane Benzie.
The winter programme will also feature a series of guest speakers and performers. Zelda La Grange, who served as Nelson Mandela's personal aide for nearly two decades, will speak about leadership, reconciliation and human connection, while internationally acclaimed pianist Maxim Lando will perform a series of intimate classical music concerts.
Explora Journeys said the seasonal programme is designed to extend the destination experience beyond shore excursions by incorporating Mediterranean culture, cuisine and wellness throughout life onboard EXPLORA II.
