Jazz Aviation LP has been recognized as one of Atlantic Canada's Top 25 Employers for 2016 by Mediacorp Canada Inc., Canada's largest publisher of employment-related periodicals. This is the fifth consecutive year Jazz has been included on the prestigious list.
"Jazz is delighted to be one of Atlantic Canada's most attractive employers once again," said Colin Copp, President, Jazz. "We continue to invest in the well-being of our employees through programs and working conditions that promote a healthy, thriving workforce".
Jazz was recognized for a number of aspects, including its support of ongoing employee development with formal mentoring and tuition subsidies; encouraging employees to prepare for the future with retirement planning assistance and contributions to a pension plan; cultivating an ownership culture; and supporting employee social activities throughout the year.
Mediacorp, which also maintains a list of top employers across Canada, as well as a number of regional lists, identifies the employers that lead their industries in exceptional places to work. The Atlantic competition extends across all four of Canada's Atlantic provinces and evaluates candidates based on eight key facets: physical workplace; work and social atmosphere; health, financial and family benefits; vacation and time off; employee communications; performance management; training and skills development; and community involvement.
Jazz is the only hospitality industry entrant on this year's list; previously New Castle Hotels & Resorts has also been included on the list.
