WestJet’s planned schedule for Q3 2026 shows fewer flights to the U.S. than the same quarter last year. It’s a move most likely based on flattened demand for U.S. destinations, particularly in the leisure travel market. While WestJet is hardly the only Canadian carrier tempering its U.S. operations, the nation’s second-largest airline is cutting more steeply than others, reports aviation website Simple Flying

Citing data from Cirium, Simple Flying calculated that WestJet is cutting 1,260 flights in the upcoming quarter, a 14.1% decrease from the nearly 9,000 flights it operated in Q3 2025. Since the third quarter of last year, WestJet has shortened the season for or cancelled completely 20 U.S. routes. The affected flights are:

  • From Calgary: Fort Lauderdale, Kahului/Maui, Raleigh–Durham.
  • From Edmonton: Chicago, Nashville, San Francisco, Seattle.
  • From Halifax: Orlando.
  • From St. John’s: Orlando.
  • From Toronto: Las Vegas, Los Angeles.
  • From Vancouver: Boston, Nashville, Orlando, San Diego, San Francisco, Tampa.
  • From Winnipeg: Atlanta, Nashville, Orlando.
