Konnichiwa! WestJet Extends Daily Service to Tokyo

WestJet's daily service between Calgary International (YYC) and Narita International (NRT) will put Tokyo into convenient reach, year round.

Instead of shuttering daily service between the two destinations at the end of the season, WestJet will continue running the route through March 2026. The Calgary-Tokyo route was launched last year on a three times weekly schedule. 

"Leveraging our Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet, WestJet continues to strengthen Calgary's tourism pipeline with expanded Trans-Pacific service, creating new inroads for economic growth across Western Canada and beyond," said John Weatherill, WestJet Executive Vice-President and Chief Commercial Officer. "Today's announcement of our expansion to daily year-round service between Calgary and Tokyo further reaffirms our commitment to bolstering Canadians' access to Asia."

The route allows for easy connections through Narita to Osaka-Itami (ITM) and Nagoya (NGO) via WestJet’s codeshare partnership with Japan Airlines. That means passengers can book via WestJet, have their bags transferred to the final destination and earn WestJet rewards on the entire trip. 

"These additional options to connect, made possible by our codeshare partnership with Japan Airlines, expands WestJet's global codeshare network and will open doors for guests looking for convenient and affordable ways to explore popular destinations across Japan," says Weatherill.
