Beginning June 1, 2025 Porter Airlines passengers will be able to fly from Montreal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau Airport (YUL) to Newark (EWR).
“Newark Airport has been a key part of Porter’s network since the launch of our Billy Bishop - Newark service in 2008,” says Andrew Pierce, vice president, network planning and reporting, Porter Airlines. “Adding a nonstop route from Montréal will make the New York area even more accessible for our passengers, giving them more options to choose from when planning their trips to the Empire State.”
There will be one round trip daily at launch, moving to twice daily service for the summer. Flight will be on Porter’s 78-seat De Havilland Dash 8-400 aircraft, with Porter’s signature “no middle seat” configuration.
The new route will allow connections from Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, and Halifax. In addition, these new flights are timed to enable connections to partner Air Transat’s European network beyond Montréal.
Porter explained how his route expands its presence at Newark, joining the airline’s existing service to Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (YTZ) and Ottawa International Airport (YOW). The Newark route also complements a new Toronto Pearson - LaGuardia route starting this spring.

Everett Jr., aviation director, Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. “This expansion reflects our region’s growing demand for more seamless travel options to top North American destinations and highlights our continued commitment to offering more flexibility for the New York-New Jersey area’s travelers, especially as international travel demand increases.”
