Barbados is adding new airlift from Atlantic Canada, with a nonstop route from Halifax.
Air Canada will introduce weekly nonstop flights from Halifax to Barbados beginning December 17, 2026. The flight will operate every Thursday on a 177-seat Boeing 737 MAX 8.
The route marks the first nonstop connection between Barbados and Atlantic Canada.
According to Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. (BTMI), Canada remains a significant source market for Barbados, with demand growing across Atlantic Canada, Ontario, Quebec and Western Canada.

"We are extremely pleased to see the introduction of this new service and extend our sincere thanks to Air Canada for its continued confidence in Barbados as a destination. Increasing airlift and improving accessibility to the island remains a key priority of this ministry, and this new route is directly aligned with our overall airlift strategy for the destination," said the Honourable Ian Gooding-Edghill, Minister of Tourism and International Transport.

The route will drive incremental growth, support tourism stakeholders, and further solidify the island’s long-standing relationship with Canada”.
The launch comes as Barbados continues to see strong demand from Canadian travellers, with interest in sun destinations and culturally focused Caribbean experiences on the rise.
