Canada Jetlines has announced that Eddy Doyle, the airline's current CEO, will retire as of June 30, 2024 after serving in the role since 2021. The company says it has initiated a CEO recruitment. During the search period, Brigitte Goersch, current Chair of the Board, will assume the role as Chief Executive Officer.

"After leading the Company through licensing, start-up and growth of its aircraft fleet, Eddy has notified the board of his intention to retire," said Goersch. "I have been active with management in my position as Chair and I will assume the role as Chief Executive Officer to assure a smooth transition and continue to grow revenue as we recruit Eddy's successor.”

Eddy Doyle added: "It has been a great honour and opportunity to build Canada Jetlines from the ground up. I have been contemplating retirement for some time and now that the Company is set up with great ACMI contracts that will have Jetlines flying five aircraft for the coming months, I thought the timing was right for Jetlines and myself to finally retire."

Operating and branded as jetlines, Canada Jetlines is a Canadian airline headquartered in Mississauga. The airline operates scheduled and charter flights in the Americas and the Caribbean. It launched its inaugural flight on September 22, 2022 and currently operates four A320-200 aircraft.

In February, Canada Jetlines completed a $13.5 million share offering and announced the launch of Jetlines Vacations, which combines all-inclusive vacation packages with Jetlines flights.

Doyle was appointed as CEO in January, 2021, prior to its first flight.

Doyle’s departure marks the latest in a series of resignations from the carrier. Chief Operating Officer Brad Warren left the company at the end of April. Charles McKee, Head of Commercial, departed March 1. And Rossen Dimitrov resigned his position as a member of the Canada Jetlines Board of Directors in February.

The share price for Canada Jetlines has declined by more than 57% since January.

This is an evolving story – stay tuned for more details.
