Eligible WestJet passengers and those willing to pay for a quiet spot in the Calgary International Airport (YYC) have a new spot to spend their pre-boarding or layover time.
WestJet and Aspire Executive Lounges have teamed up to create the co-branded space, dubbed the Aspire WestJet Garden lounge. It is an extension of the existing transborder lounge and bumps the capacity by 90 seats, up to 216.
“We are excited to unveil the Aspire WestJet Garden lounge at YYC—an expansion that underscores our dedication to elevating the travel experience. With more space, upgraded amenities, and a peaceful garden-inspired atmosphere, this new lounge welcomes all guests, regardless of their class of travel, to relax and recharge before their journey,” says David Collyer, global senior vice-president of executive lounges at Swissport International (Aspire Executive Lounges is part of Swissport International.)
The interior garden concept was designed by Canadian firm Menard Dworkind (MRDK). It aims to give travellers a “serene and elegant place to unwind” before their trip.
Guests in the Garden will enjoy included drinks and upscale dining options, curated by “acclaimed local culinary partners,” such as the popular Calgary-based Charcut group. The lounge also has high-speed Wi-Fi, charging stations, and shower facilities.

“The Aspire WestJet Garden lounge is a beautiful addition to Swissport’s Aspire Lounge, boasting impressive lounge amenities including a unique indoor garden patio,” said Samantha Taylor, WestJet executive vice-president and chief experience officer. “We are thrilled to partner with Swissport to bring this new space to YYC Calgary International Airport and offer WestJet guests more convenience and comfort when they travel.”
Access to the Aspire WestJet Garden Lounge is through the YYC Aspire Transborder Lounge, located with the E Gates. Access is complimentary to WestJet passengers travelling in a premium cabin and those with tiered status, as well as through credit cards that include an Aspire lounge access benefit. Other passengers, regardless of status or airline can access the lounge for a fee. WestJet passengers receive a 10% discount. See the WestJet site for more details.
