Air Canada Inaugurates Non-Stop Vancouver-Manila

Air Canada has officially launched non-stop flights between Vancouver and Manila.

The inaugural flight departed Vancouver International Airport (YVR) in the early hours of April 2, arriving in Manila (MNL) on April 3.

The airline sees the route as a vital connection for the more than one million Filipinos living in Canada.

"We are proud to be the only Canadian carrier flying to the Philippines, building on the longstanding ties between our countries to make visiting family and friends, conducting business, or heading on vacation more convenient than ever," said Mark Galardo, Air Canada's Executive Vice President, Revenue and Network Planning, & President, Cargo.

The launch was celebrated at YVR, with officials highlighting the economic and social benefits of the new route. British Columbia Premier David Eby welcomed the development, emphasizing the importance of stronger global connections.

Air Canada’s Manila flights operate three times a week in April, increasing to four times weekly starting May 2025.

The addition expands the airline’s transpacific network from Vancouver to 12 destinations.

The move is part of Air Canada's expansion strategy into Southeast Asia, building on recent additions of direct flights to Singapore and Bangkok.
