Air Canada Adjusts Aircraft on Europe Routes, Pulls Algiers

Air Canada is making some adjustments to its upcoming plans by introducing the A321XLR on routes to Europe earlier than had been previously announced. According to aviation analytics page Aeroroutes, recently filed schedule updates from the airline indicate Air Canada will run the new narrowbody aircraft from Toronto to Copenhagen beginning Nov. 3, 2026 and from Toronto to Manchester beginning Nov. 4, 2026.

The updated schedule also indicates that Air Canada is no longer planning to operate its Montreal to Algiers route over the summer of 2027. It's the second time the route has been cancelled, having been previously removed from the schedule for the 2026 summer season. When the first cancellation was announced, Air Canada indicated its intention to reinstate the route beginning on June 2, 2027. 

At that time, Air Canada issued a statement saying “As we regularly do, we monitor and review our network to ensure that routes are meeting profitability targets. Jet fuel prices have doubled since the start of the Iran conflict, affecting some lower profitability routes and flights which now are no longer economically feasible,”
